Hi, I’m Neve-May.

Most people look at a closed road, traffic cones, or a footpath diversion and see a delay. I look at them and see the hours of meticulous paperwork, council liaison, and strict compliance required to get that project off the ground.

My journey into street works began as a Permit Coordinator. In that role, I lived and breathed UK highway regulations daily. I’ve worked alongside everyone—from independent, local sole traders trying to get a single skip on a road, to project managers handling multi-million-pound utility frameworks for some of the biggest councils and authorities in the UK.

I quickly realised that while contractors are experts at the physical, hands-on work, navigating the maze of council permit systems is a stressful, time-consuming headache they simply don't have time for.

That is why I launched The Permit Girl.

Now working on a freelance basis, my mission is to give you senior, corporate-level compliance expertise with the speed, affordability, and personal touch of an agile freelance partner.
